Lots of great recipes for guacamole, but here's one you may like, also. Use Haas avocados, if possible. Many Mexican-Americans I know save the seed to put on top of the guacamole to keep it from turning color.

Ingredients

  • 2 large, ripe avocados
  • 1 tbs. minced onion
  • 1 small Roma tomato, chopped
  • 1 small jalapeno, finely chopped
  • juice of one small lime or lemon
  • 1-2 tbs.of Homemade Mexican Crema, storebought, or sour cream
  • 1/2 tbs. chopped cilantro
  • dash of salt

Directions

  1. Cut the avocados and scoop out the avocado fruit.
  2. Save the seed.
  3. In a small bowl, mash avocado with the other ingredients.
  4. Top with seed and serve.
