Half & Half Whole Wheat Bread (Machine or Hand-made) by Salad FoodieWell it's NEARLY half and half (whole wheat flour and white bread flour.) This makes a 2-pound loaf of bread though you can bake it in two 1-pound loaf pans and freeze one..or smaller pans as you wish. At high altitudes, decrease yeast a little (1/2 teaspoon) and increase water (1 to 2 tablespoons.) |

Chocolate Glazed Peanut Butter Bars by Salad FoodieSweet and chewy bars are a cinch to make and will please most all of your hungry nibblers! The original recipe used some butterscotch chips in the glaze along with chocolate chips, but you can use all chocolate chips if you wish - the chocolate lovers in your home will approve! |

Pumpkin Nut Bread with Streusel Topping by Salad FoodieThe comforting smell of fall and winter is in the air as you bake this crunchy and moist pumpkin spice bread. Make the whole loaf for the family or divide into smaller loaf pans for gifting. I love to have an extra loaf in the freezer for those days you just "need something." |

Crunchy Chicken Rice Casserole by Salad FoodiePutting leftovers together with pantry and fridge basics one evening I came up with this family pleaser. Water chestnuts and almonds provide the crunch. A green veggie side and/or tossed salad round out this weeknight dinner perfectly. |

Cornbread Waffles by Salad FoodieNecessity is the mother of invention. In this instance I am going into the second month of home remodeling life without a kitchen. We either eat cereal, eat out or use small kitchen appliances to cook or heat up food. When given a container of homemade chili recently, I decided to try cooking my favorite cornbread recipe in the… |

Cream of Vegetable Soup by Salad FoodieA good base comfort soup for the winter season. Cauliflower, potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic predominate, but you can rifle through the veggie bin and sub out others like spinach, zucchini, parsnips, etc. and you can increase or decrease the ratios of vegetables to your preference. About 9 cups of raw vegetables are needed. When… |

Pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and praise will abound. This is my tweaked version of several from the Internet. There are all so many out there, but I think you‘ll like the ease of making… |

Red Cabbage Coleslaw by Salad FoodieThink outside the box for your next slaw with this creamy deep red cabbage version. The dried cranberries are camouflaged by the cabbage color and provide a pleasant sweet taste surprise, while walnuts add extra crunch. |

Ham, Peas & Pasta Salad by Salad FoodieA nice choice for a summer cookout or picnic, this pasta salad can be made up to a day ahead for convenience. My pasta choice for this is ditalini, a small pasta often used in soups (this can be hard to locate but Barilla sells a one pound box.) Or substitute your own small pasta FAV such as elbows or shells. |
