Half & Half Whole Wheat Bread (Machine or Hand-made) by Salad FoodieWell it's NEARLY half and half (whole wheat flour and white bread flour.) This makes a 2-pound loaf of bread though you can bake it in two 1-pound loaf pans and freeze one..or smaller pans as you wish. At high altitudes, decrease yeast a little (1/2 teaspoon) and increase water (1 to 2 tablespoons.) |

Pumpkin Nut Bread with Streusel Topping by Salad FoodieThe comforting smell of fall and winter is in the air as you bake this crunchy and moist pumpkin spice bread. Make the whole loaf for the family or divide into smaller loaf pans for gifting. I love to have an extra loaf in the freezer for those days you just "need something." |

Cornbread Waffles by Salad FoodieNecessity is the mother of invention. In this instance I am going into the second month of home remodeling life without a kitchen. We either eat cereal, eat out or use small kitchen appliances to cook or heat up food. When given a container of homemade chili recently, I decided to try cooking my favorite cornbread recipe in the… |

Sour Cream Streusel Muffins by Salad FoodieA personal-size coffee cake in a muffin - these are seriously addicting! Increase the streusel topping if you’re crazy about the heavenly crunch on top (1 ½ times streusel topping ingredients should do it.) Be prepared for these gems to disappear quickly. |

Caraway Rye Rolls or Sliders by Salad FoodiePerfect as rolls, or as sliders for corned beef sandwiches. Bake them apart on baking sheets for sliders, or in a 9 x 13 baking pan for pan rolls. I used a bread machine on the dough setting, then shaped, and baked in oven, but you can also make these in the conventional yeast roll method without a bread machine. |

Favorite Oatmeal Muffins by Salad FoodieNo, not just my favorite oatmeal muffin, these are actually my Number 1 Favorite Muffin ~ period! I love that they are comparatively low-fat and won’t make your fingers greasy as you eat them. Double Corn & Green Chile Muffins by Salad FoodieWhole kernel corn adds texture, flavor and moistness to ordinary cornmeal muffins. Add to that sharp cheddar cheese, green chiles plus your choice and amount of "heat" seasoning and you've a nice accompaniment to a bowl of beans, chili, or southwestern soup. |

New Best Flour Tortillas by myra byankaHeretofore, I have only used lard to make tamales; however, I experimented with using it for tortillas. They came out flavorful, fluffy, and soft. Best ones ever! Dough or cooked ones will freeze. Re-heat on a griddle or skillet for maximum softness. The microwave will toughen them. |
