This dish, known as 'Alu Ghobi', has long been a favorite vegetable side dish in my kitchen. It is simple, easy to make and very healthy for you. Easy Persian Rice in a Rice Cooker by John SpottiswoodAdmittedly, this doesn't capture the crunch outside of the normal method of making persian rice. But if you are just looking for a fluffy and buttery rice to serve with a stew or tagine, this works wonderfully and is super easy. |

Cranberry Couscous by Carolinaheartstringslove couscous and thought this recipe would be so tasty, and a new and different side dish for my Thanksgiving meal. The tangy sweetness of the dried cranberry is the perfect pairing with turkey and the slight nuttiness of the pistachio is just wonderful. I cannot wait to have this the next day with my leftover turkey! |

Button mushrooms have an excellent amount of selenium, zinc and manganese; all three are great antioxidant minerals. Also daily intake of crimini mushrooms for 1-2 months can reduce levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and TGs. And if you are… |

Bacon Mac (Macaroni & Cheese with Bacon) by Salad FoodieIt's hard to improve on an American classic, but I think this recipe based on Cooking Light Magazine (9/09) does just that. I stayed fairly close to its version and am glad I did. We loved the smoky flavor bacon imparts to cheesy pasta, and the extra zing from hot sauce. You will need a broiler-safe baking dish or pan for this. I used… |

Mashed Potatoes by Candice GoodyearI don't like instant mashed potatoes at all. I make mine from scratch like many cooks out there. I like them either with butter and sour cream or butter and milk in them both are delicious. But, if you don't have milk or sour cream on hand you can substitute 1/4 cup real mayo, still taste great. |
