Warm Brussles Sprouts Salad with Almonds and Parmesan by Nancy MiyasakiI adapted this from a Oprah recipe. She makes the salad with raw brussel sprouts. I couldn't quite trust that, so I blanched them lightly before slicing. This produced a delcious and slightly warm salad. I should have tried some raw and some cooked to see which method is best. Maybe one of you can do that and let us know? |

Sauerkraut Salad by A.L. WiebeHonestly, when a friend told me he had found this recipe in an old cookbook, I was a bit skeptical. He was bound and determined to make it, in spite of my turned-up nose, so I put my best manners forward and tasted it. It was delicious, and helped greatly to wash down the crow I was forced to eat! |

Spinach-Romaine Lettuce Salad by Julia Ann SoudersThis was a 'gourmet' salad from Bon Appetit, 1978. It now is a favorite in my recipes. Vinaigrette Coleslaw II by Salad FoodieLight, sweet and tart, this salad is a refreshing change from creamy coleslaws. This is a variation of Vinaigrette Coleslaw I - link below (see "Useful Links".) This salad is easily made diabetic-friendly by using a sweetening substitute such as Splenda, and reducing amount of oil. |

Favorite Creamy Coleslaw by Frosted FlakerFor me, this has just the right balance of slaw to dressing. A true creamy slaw delight. Keep in mind this produces a VERY creamy version of coleslaw. To reduce the creaminess, simply add a bit more cabbage. |

Meatless Monday, Take The Corn Off The Cob! by kathy goriWhat should greet us this morning as we returned from our early morning coffee run to the Basque Boulangerie but a large turkey vulture sitting on the branch of a tree looking down at our house. Zucchini, Yellow Squash & Radish Salad by Salad FoodieSo colorful, light and refreshing, this goes over well at summer feeds, and helps use up your garden harvest. Make this in advance to allow a thorough chilling, about 2 hours. It's best served the day made. Sub any veggies you want for variations, or change to a main dish salad over pasta. Leftovers can top salad greens for yet… |
