  • 500g lean ground Beef
  • 1 medium red onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Mix the dice onion and garlic into a bowl.
  2. Season well with salt and pepper then mix well with your hands until evenly combined.
  3. Form the meat mixture into four big equal sized burger patties.
  4. Rub each patty with olive oil.
  5. Heat a griddle pan and grill-fry the burgers for 3-4 minutes each side or until tender (alternative is on a BBQ grill).
  6. Serve on the toasted buns; top with red onion rings, sliced tomatoes, lettuce and ketchup. Mayonnaise is optional.
