Spicy Shrimp Moroccan Style by John SpottiswoodThese prawns are absolutely fantastic. Every time I make them I marvel at the density and depth of the flavors. I typically leave the Cayenne pepper out of about half of them if I'm cooking for the whole family. I often serve these in combination with a Moroccan chicken, fish, or lamb dish, but they work fine on their own too. |

The wonderful smells of the shrimp, garlic, and onion will fill your house and make everyone's mouths water. I cooked these tonight for Cinco de Mayo and both we and our kids absolutely loved them. Swai with Lemon-Basil Pesto by John SpottiswoodWe made this dish with Swai, but it would work equally well with basa, tilapia, catfish, sole, or any other mild and flaky white fish. The pesto is bright and citrusy and contrasts well with the mild, garlicky flavor of the fish. Our kids loved it and all went back for seconds. We served it with fresh artichoke and rice. |

Simple Sole Meuniere by Nancy MiyasakiI seem to have a fetish with dover sole right now. It’s so plentiful and inexpensive, I keep looking for different ways to cook it. This easy recipe adapted from the barefoot contessa is really delicious. The slightly burnt flour in the butter gives it a nutty flavor with I just love. You can serve this with a simple rice or pasta… |

He recently returned from a summer vacation in Germany and brought us a Spaetzle maker back! It's a simple device for making this very simple, but tasty, German pasta of flour, water and oil. You want to serve it with a flavorful meat stew with lots of juice/gravy. We… |

Lemon Paprika Tilapia by John SpottiswoodThis is a delicious version of Tilapia that we adapted from a Bon Appetit recipe. We served it with the quinoa recipe linked below. It was a great combination. I put only a small amount of the sauce over the fish as the salt/pepper/paprika tilapia sauteed with a little butter is delicious all by itself! |

Garlic & Lemon Butter Shrimp by Nancy MiyasakiThis recipe for pan searing shrimp is one of my favorites. I adapted it from a Cooks Illustrated recipe. It is full of flavor and the shrimp will come out brown and slightly caramelized if you pan sear them as described. We tried two different recipes the same night and compared side by side. This was the consensus, but not… |

Spinach and Sausage Gnocchi by John SpottiswoodThis is a delicious and beautiful dish. We just served it for a normal weeknight meal, but the presentation is such that it would be good for entertaining. It's rich, so good to serve with a green salad with vinaigrette. |

Stuffed Omelette B.L.D (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) by I Just Love My ApronI was thinking back to what my favorite mommy-homemade food was the other day. This dish came up. I have missed my mom's homemade food lately. It's not only the food that I missed but also the good company and atmosphere that I missed. My mom used fresh baby corn instead of whole corn. I couldn't seem to find that corn here so I used… |
