Baked White Fish by John GoinsThis is an herbaceous fish dish, but also has the umami and salt of the soy sauce. It calls for cod, but any meaty white fish will work such as John Dory, swordfish or halibut. If you want to punch up the flavor a bit more, add a hunk of butter or some bacon to the dish. That will really make it sing. |

Apricot-Pesto Chicken by AnneIf you have a container of pesto in your refrigerator that you like, use it instead of the basil leaves, dried apricots, pecans, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and garlic. Note: 1. You can also substitute fresh spinach leaves if you do not have any basil leaves. 2. Apricot Pineapple preserves is also a good substitute. |

Chicken Soup Puff Pastry Pie by Hungry JennyNow, I have to admit, the pastry I made for this particular photo didn't turn out that well. But if you're sensible unlike me, you would have simply used pre-made puff pastry instead so that it will turn out like the dream it's supposed to be. |
