Light Sourdough Rye Bread by myra byankaMake this into loaves, rolls, or buns. I had posted a sourdough dark rye bread recipe, which was good, but I started fooling with it, and like the versatility of this lighter version. For one thing, the dark rye dough was so heavy, it wore me out kneading it. This recipe produced the best, fluffiest rolls I have ever made, just… |

Light Whole Wheat Sourdough Oatmeal Rolls by myra byankaThe recipe name says it all, except for a touch of honey and molasses in the dough. You can shape the rolls any way you want, but I like to roll them and place them close together, so they rise next to each other. Eat them with honey butter for a real treat. Makes 12 dinner rolls. |

Baking Powder Biscuits by myra byankaThis classic recipe makes about 8 biscuits (2 1/2 inch diameter). I like to brush melted butter on the tops after the biscuits come out of the oven. If you have leftovers, do not refrigerate. Just wrap them in plastic, and heat the next day in the oven, which is the best way to re-heat all bread products. |

Refrigerator Cinnamon Rolls by myra byankaMake the dough the night before, let rise once, punch down, put in the fridge and bake the next morning. Yum! Makes enough for 18 rolls or so, and the dough will do fine in the fridge for a day or two. |

New Best Flour Tortillas by myra byankaHeretofore, I have only used lard to make tamales; however, I experimented with using it for tortillas. They came out flavorful, fluffy, and soft. Best ones ever! Dough or cooked ones will freeze. Re-heat on a griddle or skillet for maximum softness. The microwave will toughen them. |

Kelly's Favorite Angel Biscuits by myra byankaThis wonderful recipe is one from my friend Kelly's mom. I waited a while to try these, only to regret not having made them sooner. They are a cross between southern buttermilk biscuits and yeast rolls, and are also known a bride biscuits, as they are not difficult to make. |

Gorganzola Garlic Bread by Kyra MartinSuch a great twist on traditional garlic bread. If you like a lot of filling, you can double the recipe. Double makes enough for a large loaf of french bread and half a batard. |

Homemade French Bread for Beginners by myra byankaThis is an easy, no-knead recipe for French bread that requires some mixing and 2 days refrigeration (cold fermentation) before baking. Plan in advance to make this bread, which is so much tastier than bread bought at the grocery store. Refrigeration allows the bread to produce alcohol (it bakes off) and other yeast by-products… |
