I have tried lots of recipes for homemade biscuits and none compare to this one. They came out moist and flaky. The only thing I did different is I added 1 egg. I found this recipe from a Houston,TX chef
So for all you Texas folks this is a GREAT recipe for biscuits.

Directions

  1. Combine together the dry ingredients in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in the shortening, and mixing the buttermilk.
  3. Combine until just together. Roll out on floured surface ½" thick.
  4. Cut out biscuits & bake at 325° for 10-12 minutes.
