The Waterford Blaa- Happy St. Paddy's Day! Recipe
Ingredients
- 900 grams (285 to 300 ml) lukewarm (100 degrees F) water
- 30 grams (about 1 tablespoon plus 3/4 teaspoon) instant yeast
- 30 grams (about 2 1/4 tsp) sugar
- 1500 grams bread flour (just less than 12 cups) plus more for coating the rolls
- 20 grams (about 1 3/4 tsp) fine sea salt
- 30 grams (about 3/4 tablespoon) room temperature unsalted butter

.%20It%20actually%20has%20protected%20status%20by%20the%20EU...Kind%20of%20like%20Champagne%20I%20guess?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20so,%20I%20decided%20to%20try%20out%20this%20recipe%20from%20a%20great%20blog%20I%20follow%20-%20Karen's%20Kitchen%20Stories%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20buns%20were%20easy%20to%20make.%20They%20are%20good%20the%20same%20day-%20tender%20and%20fluffy%20on%20the%20inside%20and%20crusty%20on%20the%20outside%20-%20but%20go%20stale%20pretty%20quickly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWATERFORD%20BLAA%20RECIPE%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20makes%2024%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20them%20for%20Leslie's%20St%20Paddy's%20Day%20Pardy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20warm%20water%20in%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20stand%20mixer%20and%20add%20the%20yeast%20and%20the%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20gentlyAdd%20the%20flour,%20salt,%20and%20butter.%20Stir%20with%20a%20wooden%20spoon%20or%20a%20dough%20whisk%20until%20just%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20bowl%20on%20the%20mixer%20and%20mix%20with%20the%20dough%20hook%20for%2010%20minutes,%20adding%20more%20water%20early%20on%20as%20needed%20to%20achieve%20a%20smooth%20dough.%20I%20didn't%20need%20to%20add%20more....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20dough%20into%20an%20oiled%20bowl,%20cover%20with%20plastic%20wrap,%20and%20let%20rise%20in%20a%20warm%20spot%20until%20doubled%20in%20size,%20about%2040%20to%2045%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOoops%20left%20it%20tooooo%20long!!!%20STOP!!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%203%20x%209%20inch%20by%2013%20inch%20baking%20pan%20with%20parchment,%20and%20dust%20it%20liberally%20with%20flour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20dough%20from%20the%20bowl%20and%20deflate%20it.%20I%20first%20divided%20it%20in%20half%20then%20quarters%20and%20finally%20had%2024%20equal%20pieces%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EForm%20each%20piece%20into%20a%20ball,%20and%20then%20press%20each%20ball%20with%20the%20palm%20of%20your%20hand%20to%20flatten%20it%20into%20a%20disk.%20As%20you%20can%20see,%20mine%20didn't%20flatten%20so%20much%20so%20don't%20worry.%20Place%20each%20disk%20side%20by%20side%20into%20the%20pan%20(2%20disks%20x%204%20disks).%20Cover%20the%20pan%20with%20plastic%20wrap%20and%20place%20it%20in%20a%20warm%20spot%20to%20rise,%20about%2045%20to%2050%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20400%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20Blaas%20are%20ready,%20liberally%20dust%20them%20with%20flour,%20but%20don't%20overdo%20it%20or%20you%20will%20be%20eating%20flour!!.%20Bake%20for%2018%20to%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELift%20the%20parchment%20out%20of%20the%20pan%20and%20place%20the%20Blaas%20on%20a%20wire%20rack.%20Using%20a%20pastry%20brush,%20distribute%20the%20flour%20that%20is%20already%20on%20the%20rolls%20evenly%20over%20the%20tops%20and%20brush%20excess%20from%20the%20bottoms%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20rolls%20can%20be%20served%20warm%20or%20cooled.%20Cool%20completely%20before%20storing.%20You%20can%20wrap%20them%20in%20plastic%20if%20you%20are%20going%20to%20store%20them%20for%20the%20next%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemember%20check%20out%20Karen's%20Kitchen%20Stories!%20This%20recipe%20was%20inspired%20by%20Comfort%20and%20Spice%20by%20Niamh%20Shields%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUntil%20we%20bake%20again....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20St.%20Patrick's%20Day!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPenny%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
