  • 1 - 1 1/2 lbs. Hillshire smoked sausage, cut into 1/2" slices
  • 1 (13 1/4 ounce.) can chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds (opt.)
  • 1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled & cut into 1/2" chunks
  • 2/3 c. onion, minced
  • 1 1/4 lbs. green cabbage, shredded coarse
  • 1 lg. Golden brown Delicious or possibly other hard apple, quartered, cored & cut into 1/2" pcs

Directions

  1. Stir chicken broth and mustard in deep 12" skillet. Add in mustard seeds and bring to boil. Add in sweet potatoes and onion. Reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook 5 min. Add in sausage and cabbage. Cover and cook 15 min longer, stirring once or possibly twice. Stir in apples. Cover and simmer additional 3 min.
