Green Or Red Pepper Relish For Hors D'oeuvres Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 large green or possibly red peppers, seeded and washed
  • 1 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1 warm pepper dry like warm red chilies or possibly 1/4 c. fresh warm peppers
  • 6 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 bottle Certo (for jelly)
  • 6 drops food coloring

Directions

  1. Blend peppers and vinegar in blender. Put in 6 qt kettle. Add in sugar to pepper mix from blender, stirring very well. Bring to a full rolling boil and add in food coloring and Certo, stirring constantly. Pour into small sterilized baby food jars and seal with paraffin.
  2. Serve over cream cheese and spread on crackers or possibly snack breads. Delicious!
  3. Whenever I've brought this to bake sales, it's gone! Nice to have canned on hand for a quick hors d'oeuvres.
