Directions

  1. Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar and vanilla. Add in egg and beat till light and fluffy. Beat in lowfat milk.Sift together dry ingredients. Using a wooden spoon - add in dry mix to the creamed mix a little at a time. Mix well.
  2. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
  3. On a floured surface, roll dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters.
  4. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in preheated oven (350 degrees) for 6-8 min. Makes 2 dozen cookies. Recipe can be easily doubled. Cool and frost.
  5. Add in lowfat milk (1 to 2 tbsp) till spreading consistency. Use food coloring for tinting.
