Years ago (and I mean years, like when I was 10ish) someone in my family, I want to say my aunt, started making this spinach dip. It's based off of the one on the back of the Knorr's package, but the measurements and ingredients are swapped around to create a taste we preferred a little better.

While I do make other spinach dips, this one is still my go-to dip because it's so fast and easy to make.

Ingredients

Cost per recipe $5.28 view details
  • 1 cup fat free sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1 package Knorrs Vegetable Dip mix
  • 1, 8 oz. can water chestnuts
  • 1 small onion
  • 1, 10 oz. package of chopped spinach (defrosted)
  • wheat crackers, bread or pretzels (to serve with it)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sour cream, mayo and dip mix well.
  2. Chop in small pieces the water chestnuts and onions. Add them to the mix, and stir. ( use a mini chopper for this, because it's faster)
  3. Make sure the spinach is well drained and add. (I always rinse the spinach, and then squeeze it dry by the handfuls. Mix really well. You can chill it for a hour, or serve immediately.
