	Citrus and Avocado Salad by John Spottiswood This was one of my favorite salads growing up. My grandmother would serve it in a butter lettuce leaf cup with just grapefruit, avocado, and a light vinegarette. Prepare the salad before dinner; a squeeze of lime over the pears will keep them from darkening. Bartlett, Comice, or Bosc pears can be substituted for the Packhams.
