Directions

  1. In 1 qt saucepan combine all ingredients except chicken, stirring to dissolve cornstarch. Cook over high heat, stirring constantly, till mix comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, till mix thickens slightly, about 1 minute. Remove and throw away bay leaf. Transfer mix to blender container and process on low speed till pureed.
  2. Arrange chicken on grill (or possibly baking sheet); brush with half of the onion mix and cook over warm coals (or possibly in broiler), about 5 min. Turn chicken over; brush with remaining onion mix and cook till chicken is cooked throughout, about 5 min longer.
