Directions

  1. Put lima beans into a boiling water. Let soak. In the meantime, rinse barley till water is clear. Shell lima beans. Place into large soup pot: soup meat, fine barley, lima beans, carrots and celery. Add in water till it is at least 3 inches above items in pot. Add in seasoning to taste.
  2. Cook over low heat till lima beans are dissolved. (Should be about 5-6 hrs.) Stir, making sure soup doesn't stick.
