  1. Fry bacon. Remove all but about 1-2 Tbsp. drippings. Fry squash and onions till heated through. Add in sugar, salt and pepper. Add in crumbled bacon pcs.
  2. Cover and steam till squash is tender. Remove cover and fry till dry and lightly browned.
