Puffy Egg Toast... Recipe

- 1 egg per serving
- 1 slice of bread per serving
- butter for bread
- 1 tablespoon of grated cheddar cheese per serving
- salt and pepper to taste

%20or%20if%20this%20is%20something%20she%20just%20whipped%20up,%20which%20it%20probably%20is,%20either%20way,%20this%20recipe%20is%20a%20keeper!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20boy%20asks%20me%20how%20to%20make%20something,%20then%20I%20know%20he%20loves%20it...and%20he%20asked%20about%20these...he%20downed%20two%20of%20these%20in%20nothing%20flat,%20as%20did%20the%20mister!%20%20And%20my%20future%20DIL%20liked%20it,%20too,%20and%20she%20pretty%20much%20hates%20everything%20except%20cookies!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFluffy%20egg%20whites%20are%20spread%20over%20buttered%20toast%20and%20the%20yolk%20is%20cracked%20on%20top...a%20little%20sprinkle%20of%20cheese,%20salt%20and%20pepper%20and%20these%20beauties%20are%20ready%20for%20the%20oven...they%20take%20hardly%20any%20time%20at%20all%20to%20make%20and%20bake%20and%20would%20be%20perfect%20to%20serve%20for%20a%20special%20breakfast...I%20am%20so%20happy%20I%20now%20have%20this%20recipe%20in%20my%20repertoire!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAren't%20they%20pretty?!?%20%20As%20you%20know,%20I%20am%20not%20an%20egg%20eater,%20puffy%20or%20otherwise,%20but%20I%20did%20take%20a%20teensy%20bite%20off%20a%20corner%20and%20I%20didn't%20die,%20in%20fact,%20I%20thought%20it%20was%20good...cheesy,%20meringue-y,%20and%20crispy...I%20didn't%20bite%20into%20the%20yolk...baby%20steps%20here,%20don't%20want%20to%20rush%20into%20yolk%20eating%20on%20my%20first%20venture%20into%20egg-land!%20%20Use%20a%20good%20whole%20grain/wheat%20bread...make%20these,%20you%20won't%20be%20sorry.%20%20And%20be%20sure%20to%20pop%20over%20and%20visit%20Karon%20and%20tell%20her%20thanks%20for%20the%20recipe!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20425%20degrees.%20%20Separate%20eggs,%20setting%20aside%20the%20yolks.%20%20Toast%20and%20butter%20bread,%20set%20aside.%20%20In%20the%20bowl%20of%20an%20electric%20mixer,%20beat%20egg%20whites%20until%20stiff%20peaks%20form.%20%20Place%20toast%20onto%20a%20rimmed%20baking%20sheet.%20%20Spread/pile%20the%20fluffy%20egg%20whites%20onto%20toast.%20%20Using%20the%20back%20of%20a%20spoon,%20make%20a%20well%20in%20the%20center%20of%20the%20egg%20whites,%20carefully%20spoon%20one%20yolk%20into%20the%20well%20on%20each%20serving.%20%20Season%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20and%20sprinkle%20cheese%20over%20top.%20%20Bake%20for%208%20to%2010%20minutes,%20depending%20on%20how%20done%20you%20want%20the%20yolk.%20%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20serve%20immediately.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Karon%20covered%20her%20yolks%20with%20more%20egg%20white,%20so%20the%20yolk%20didn't%20leak%20out%20everywhere%20and%20couldn't%20be%20seen.%20%20I%20didn't%20have%20a%20problem%20with%20the%20yolks%20that%20%22escaped%22%20the%20well...I%20have%20made%20it%20both%20ways,%20covering%20the%20yolk%20and%20not%20covering%20it%20and%20my%20family%20prefers%20seeing%20the%20yolk%20-%20they%20like%20to%20know%20it's%20there%20I%20suppose!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThose%20are%20fried%20purple%20potatoes,%20not%20charcoal%20briquets!%20%20You%20can%20see%20in%20the%20above%20pic%20that%20the%20yolk%20escaped%20it's%20well...but%20the%20mister%20had%20no%20problem%20finding%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks%20Karon%20-%20I%20know%20I'll%20be%20making%20Puffy%20Egg%20Toast%20a%20lot%20from%20now%20on!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
