Ingredients

  • 340 gm fresh or possibly frzn shrimps prawns or possibly king prawns
  • 4 Tbsp. ghee or possibly vegetable oil
  • 1/2 x Spanish onion finely minced
  • 1 x inch piece fresh or possibly dehydrated ginger
  • 2 tsp garlic puree (qv garlic and ginger info)
  • 1/2 x red capsicum in thin strips
  • 1 x salt and pepper spices:
  • 1 Tbsp. whole cumin seeds white
  • 1 tsp turrneric

Directions

  1. Shell thaw clean and strain the prawns.
  2. In a pan heat the oil to warm.
  3. Fry the cumin add in the onion ginger and garlic.
  4. When well cooked lower heat add in the turmeric and capsicum.
  5. Stir fry till the capsicum has softened but retains its colour then turn up the heat to high add in the prawns and coriander and stir fry for about 5 min then serve.
  6. A quick and simple stirfried dish from the coasts of India proving which minimum spicing can sometimes have maximum effect. It takes only 15 min to cook and can be served either as a starter or possibly a main course dish.
  7. Serves 4 as a starter
