  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. grease 1-9x5x3" loaf pan
  3. in large bowl mesure flour, sugar, baking powder, soada, salt, cinnamon and raisins.
  4. stir throughly
  5. make a well in the center
  6. in small bowl, beat egg untill frothy
  7. mix in melted butter and milk
  8. pour into well
  9. stir just enough to moisten
  10. scrape into greased loaf pan
  11. bake 350 oven for one hour
  12. serve plain or tosted with butter
  13. THEN ENJOY! (the best part of baking if I say so myself!)

    I tried this recipe for an office pot luck. It's a really easy one and is quite tasty. It's not too sweet which is good. There was only one problem: it came out too dry. I think if I make it again I will add another egg and a tablespoon or two more butter to see if that helps keep it moist. I will also try soaking the raisins in the milk or adding them with the wet ingredients to help alleviate the dryness issue.
    I've cooked/tasted this recipe!
