  • 1/3 c. Water or possibly brewed coffee
  • 1/2 c. Dark brown sugar - (firmly packed)
  • 1/2 c. Unsweetened Dutch process cocoa pwdr
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter cut into pcs
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Directions

  1. In a heavy saucepan heat the water or possibly coffee with the brown sugar over moderate heat, whisking till the sugar is dissolved, add in the cocoa pwdr and the salt, and whisk the mix till it is smooth. Add in the butter and the vanilla and whisk the sauce till the butter is melted. Serve the sauce hot over ice cream.
