Citrus Spice Apple Cake Recipe
This is my husband's favorite cake to have with his coffee. He loves the smell this makes in our kitchen.
Ingredients
- 1 can apple pie filling
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juce
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup canola oil
- 2 tsp baking soda 1/2 c fresh orange juice
- dash of salt 1/4 c fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tsp orange flavoring
- 1 tsp almond extract
Directions
- Prepare a 9 by13 pan with shortning and warm oven to 350.
- In a large bowl mix the apples with lemon juice ,cinnamon and nutmeg,set aside. In another bowl mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon Set aside. In mixing bowl mix together the eggs and sugar, then add oil,orange juice, lemon juice, orange flavoring, almond extract, add the flour mixture, do not overbeat, mix only until combined nicely.Mix in the apples and pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake approx 45 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Dust with Confectioners sugar when warm.
