Cinnamon Apple Noodle Kugel Recipe

Directions

  1. Cook the noodles for 5 min in boiling salted water till barely tender.
  2. Drain, rinse in cool water and drain thoroughly. Peel and slice apples.
  3. Heat 2 Tbsp. of margarine in a frying pan. Add in sliced apples and brown well on both sides. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and set aside in a separate dish.
  4. Heat the remaining margarine and pour 3 Tbsp. of it unto the noodles.
  5. Add in the lemon, raisins, nuts and salt.
  6. Beat the egg whites till soft peaks form. Add in the 4 Tbsp. of sugar, and mix in the yolks. Mix this together with the noodles.
  7. Put half the mix in the bottom of a greased 33x23x5 baking pan Spread the apples on top and cover with the rest of the noodles. Drizzle the remaining margarine on top and sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Bake, covered for 30 min.
  9. Uncover and bake for another 20 min.
  10. It is well worth the effort!
