Chocolate Pecan Chewies Cookie Mix In A Jar Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1/3 c. Hard packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Cocoa pwdr*
- 1 c. Minced pecans
- 1 3/4 c. Flour mixed with
- 1 tsp Baking soda
Directions
- Yield: 1 jar
- *(clean inside of jar with a paper towel after this layer)
- Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 qt wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient.
- Directions given to recipient:Empty jar into large mixing bowl, use your hands to thoroughly mix. Add in 1 stick soft butter, 1 egg slightly beaten and 1 tsp vanilla (optional).Mix till completely blended-you will need to finish mixing with your hands Shape into balls the size of walnuts Place 2" apart on sprayed cookies sheets Bake 375 for 11-13 minutes til edges are lightly browned - cold 5 minutes on baking sheet and remove cookies to racks to cold completely.
