- A simple and kind of elegant "recipe" from the Frugal Gourmet which I read years ago - you take cherry tomatoes, kosher salt, and vodka put in the freezer till it issyrupy - you dip the tomato in vodka and then in salt and eat it - bloody mary on the hoof We are lucky sufficient to be able to get cherry tomatoes year-round here in San Antonio.
