Vintage Bacardi Rum CakeThis recipe came from a friend's Mother's recipe box. It is a vintage recipe from the turn of the century. The recipe calls for a lot of rum, so if you aren't that much of a fan, you may want to reduce the quantity of rum. Enjoy! |

Vintage Banana Nut BreadThis recipe was from the Parke-Davis Cafeteria in Detroit, Michigan in the 1940's. My Grandpa Joe worked there, and loved this recipe so much, he bugged the cafeteria staff until they gave it up. It makes a really moist loaf, or cupcakes. If you decide to frost them, I suggest using a cream-cheese frosting. Yum! |

Aunt Elaine's Chocolate FrostingThis rich, creamy and almost pudding-like frosting is very addictive. All of the work in this recipe is stirring while thickening, but you will agree, it is worth the effort. |
