Vitale chocolate cookies Recipe
Thanks to my wonderful cousin's Margaret and Rosemarie Vitale in Milwaukee, I was able to bake these wonderful cookies that I used to bake as a child with my mother Rosaria, but could not find the recipe!!!
8 Eggs
1 Hershey semi-sweet chocolate melted
9 cups of flour
3 cups of sugar
Half of a container of Hershey's baking cocoa, the large one
4 tablespoons of baking powder

Ingredients
- 8 Eggs
- I Hershey semi sweet chocolate melted
- 9 cups of flour
- 3 cups of sugar
- Half a container of Hershey's baking cocoa, the large one
- 4 Tablespoons of baking powder
Directions
- Mix all dry ingredients and then add the following,
- Hershey melted chocolate
- 3 sticks of Crisco (butter flavor), squeeze each stick first and mix with the dry ingredients.
- Make sure you knead the dough in a large table or cutting board, there will be a lot of dough and will be dry and messy. If you need to moisten the dough add a bit of water to the dough.
- Icing for chocolate cookies:
- 2 cups of Icing sugar
- 1 or 2 freshly squeezed lemons
- Tablespoon of water
- Whisk with a fork until bubbles form.
- Glaze the cookies and sprinkle with your favourite holiday sprinkles and allow to dry for at least an hour before storing.
- Enjoy, they are yummy!
