Salisbury Steak With Onions And Peppers Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 4 med. onions (sliced)
- 2 med. green peppers (cut in 2 inch by 1/2 inch strips)
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs (2 slices)
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
- 1 c. water
- 2 tbsp. catsup
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- In 12 inch skillet over medium heat, in warm butter, cook onions and green peppers till tender, stirring frequently. Remove onion mix to hot platter; keep hot.
- Meanwhile, in medium bowl with fork, mix grnd beef, bread crumbs, egg, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Shape in mix into 4 1/2 inch thick oval patties. In same skillet over medium-high heat, cook patties about 5 min for medium or possibly till of desired doneness, turning patties once. Arrange patties on platter with onions and peppers; keep hot.
- Into drippings in skillet over medium heat, stir flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, and healthy pinch of pepper; cook 1 minute. Add in water, catsup, and Worcestershire sauce; cook, stirring constantly, till mix is slightly thickened; pour sauce over patties. Makes 4 servings.
