  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lrg chopped carlic clove
  • 1/2 x onion very finely minced
  • 1 tsp dry basil
  • 1 tsp dry parsley
  • 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes - (28 ounce)
  • 1 can tomato puree - (29 ounce)
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oil over medium-low heat, and add in garlic. Stir and cook till golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  2. Add in onion and cook till soft and golden brown stirring frequently. Add in seasonings and tomato products. Slowly bring to the boil at a medium-high heat. Let boil for 10 min, covered.
  3. Reduce to lowest heat, cover loosely, and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
