%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20are%20you%20ready%20for%20the%20embarrassing%20truth%20about%20why%20I%20am%20late%20getting%20this%20post%20to%20you?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20never%20used%20a%20cookie%20press%20before,%20and%20it%20made%20me%20a%20little%20nervous.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20of%20course%20I%20realize%20how%20incredibly%20silly%20I%20was.%20This%20was%20so%20easy!!%20Alex%20and%20I%20had%20so%20much%20fun%20doing%20it%20also.%20The%20cookie%20press%20came%20with%20a%20wonderful%20assortment%20of%20discs;%20Alex%20chose%20the%20maple%20leaf%20design%20because%20it%20was%20fall.%20As%20you%20can%20see%20in%20the%20collage%20above,%20it%20was%20easy%20enough%20for%20a%20child%20to%20operate%20also%E2%80%93something%20I%20love%20about%20most%20OXO%20tools.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBecause%20I%20had%20never%20made%20spritz%20cookies%20before,%20I%20wanted%20to%20first%20master%20a%20%E2%80%9Cplain%E2%80%9D%20vanilla%20butter%20cookie.%20%20This%20recipe,%20closely%20adapted%20from%20Nancy%20Baggett%20in%20her%20wonderful%20Simply%20Sensational%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E,%20worked%20perfectly.%20I%20can%20imagine%20adding%20herbs%20(finely%20chopped%20rosemary%20or%20thyme)%20to%20it,%20spices%20(cinnamon,%20cardamom,%20nutmeg,%20apple%20pr%20pumpkin%20pie%20spice%20blends),%20citrus%20zests,%20or%20extracts%20(anise,%20espresso,%20maple,%20fiori%20di%20sicilia).%20I%20am%20plotting%20and%20planning%20for%20Christmas,%20as%20you%20might%20imagine!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPiped%20Vanilla%20Spritz%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVery%20closely%20adapted%20from%20Nancy%20Baggett%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAuthor:%20TheSpicedLife%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20type:%20Dessert%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECuisine:%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20F.%20You%20will%20be%20using%20UNgreased%20cookie%20sheets%20for%20this%20recipe,%20so%20just%20have%20some%20cookie%20sheets%20ready.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20the%20butter%20on%20medium%20low%20until%20it%20is%20creamy.%20Add%20the%20milk.%20Continue%20beating%20on%20medium%20low%20until%20incorporated%20and%20looser%20still.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20sugar%20and%20mix%20until%20incorporated%E2%80%93you%20do%20not%20want%20to%20incorporate%20a%20lot%20of%20air%20into%20these%20cookies,%20so%20keep%20everything%20around%20medium%20low%20or%20lower.%20Because%20of%20that,%20the%20mixing%20process%20for%20these%20cookies%20takes%20a%20bit%20longer%E2%80%93be%20patient.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20sugar%20has%20dissolved,%20mix%20in%20the%20vanilla.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20in%20the%20egg%20yolks%20and%20salt%20until%20incorporated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGradually%20stir%20in%20the%20flour:%20you%20are%20aiming%20for%20a%20dough%20that%20is%20not%20super%20soft,%20but%20also%20not%20too%20stiff%20to%20push%20through%20the%20cookie%20press.%20If%20the%20dough%20seems%20too%20stiff%E2%80%93it%20has%20been%20dry%20here%20and%20mine%20did%E2%80%93add%20more%20milk,%20%C2%BD%20tablespoon%20at%20a%20time.%20Mine%20took%20an%20extra%201%20tablespoon%20total.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFill%20the%20tube%20of%20your%20cookie%20press%20(you%20can%20also%20use%20a%20plastic%20bag,%20but%20after%20discovering%20how%20easy%20it%20was%20with%20the%20cookie%20press%20I%20will%20not%20be%20looking%20back!),%20and%20press%20the%20cookies%20out%20onto%20the%20ungreased%20cookie%20sheets,%20about%201%C2%BD%20inches%20apart.%20Sprinkle%20with%20sparkling%20sugar%20if%20using.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2012-16%20minutes,%20until%20lightly%20browning%20at%20the%20edges.%20Rotate%20sheets%20if%20necessary%20for%20even%20browning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20cool%20on%20sheets%20for%205%20minutes%20before%20moving%20to%20a%20cooling%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECool%20completely%20before%20storing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.2.2807%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAffiliate%20links%20were%20used%20in%20this%20post,%20but%20only%20to%20link%20to%20items%20I%20would%20be%20discussing%20and%20linking%20to%20in%20any%20case.%20The%20OXO%20Cookie%20Press%20was%20sent%20to%20me%20by%20OXO%20for%20purposes%20of%20an%20honest%20review%20and%20to%20raise%20awareness%20for%20Cookies%20for%20Kids%20Cancer.%20No%20other%20compensation%20was%20provided,%20and%20all%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
