Directions

  1. Heat butter in Dutch oven. Add in sliced yellow, white, and purpose onion and saute/fry till transparent. Halfway through saute/fry process add in minced celery and saute/fry till soft. Add in flour, stir till bubbly, 3-5 min. Add in chicken broth, stir till thickened. Add in half and half and simmer. Brown bacon, drain and crumble; add in to soup. Chop green onion, including tops. Add in to soup. Add in pepper to taste. Simmer 30-45 min. Serve with a good, warm French bread.
