Directions

  1. Combine all of the marinade ingredients and pour over the ribs, reserving 1/2 c. for basting, 1/2 c. for serving. Marinate the ribs covered in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hrs.
  2. When ready to grill, remove the ribs from the marinade, throw away and wipe off excess. Grill ribs till all sides are nicely browned, basting with 1/2 c. of the reserved marinade occasionally. Cook approximately 60 min. Check for doneness. Serve with reserved serving sauce, if you like.
  3. This recipe yields 4 portions for main entree, 6 portions for appetizer.
  4. Comments: "Bul-go-gi" is probably the most popular meat dish in Korean cuisine. It is made with thin slices of beef sirloin which have been marinated in soy sauce, onions, garlic and lots of ginger and chilies and then grilled quickly at the table. Recipe adapted from this traditional Korean favorite.
