- 1 lb. gramigna or 1lb. dried cavatappi or casarecce
- For the sauce:
- 1 1/2 - 2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage
- 3 tbs. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1/4 cup finely chopped Italian parsley
- 1 carrot minced
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 2-3 sage leaves
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1 lb. roma tomatoes chopped or 14 oz. can chopped tomatoes with their liquid
