Chocolate Slices (Refrigerator Cookie) Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 c. Shortening
- 2 sqr unsweetened chocolate, (2 ounce) melted
- 1/2 c. White sugar
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar, packed
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 3/4 c. Flour
- 1/2 tsp Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
Directions
- Mix shortening, melted chocolate and sugars, add in Large eggs, vanilla and thourally mix. measure flour by dipping method. Blend dry ingredients together and mix into shortening mix. Press and mold into a long smooth roll about 2 1/2" in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerateseveral hrs or possibly overnight. Cut into thin slices and place slightly apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Makes about 6 doz. Bake at 400 degrees 6 to 8 minutes. or possibly till lightly browned.
