,%20so%20I%20was%20worn%20out%20and%20tired%20and%20slept%20until%209:30%20a.m.%20this%20morning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon%E2%80%99t%20judge.%20%20I%20needed%20that.%20%20(I%20also%20think%20I%20caught%20The%20Hubs%E2%80%99%20cold.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20post%20really%20isn%E2%80%99t%20starting%20out%20as%20a%20traditional%20Valentine%E2%80%99s%20Day%20post,%20I%20know,%20but%20let%20me%20tell%20you%20what%20I%20whipped%20up%20for%20breakfast%20when%20I%20finally%20did%20roll%20out%E2%80%94Applesauce%20Pancakes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20egg%20%20vigorously%20with%20a%20whisk%20until%20fluffy.%20%20%20Add%20milk,%20sugar%20and%20apple%20sauce%20and%20whisk%20some%20more.%20%20%20Add%20dry%20ingredients%20and%20stir%20until%20just%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20griddle%20and%20melt%20a%20bit%20of%20butter%20on%20it.%20%20%20For%20each%20pancake,%20pour%20a%20scant%201/4%20c.%20of%20batter%20onto%20the%20griddle.%20%20Cook%20until%20puffed%20and%20dry%20around%20the%20edges.%20%20%20(This%20is%20a%20thick%20batter.)%20%20Turn%20and%20cook%20other%20side%20until%20golden%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20makes%20about%206%20pancakes.%20%20(Recipe%20is%20easily%20doubled.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20I%20said,%20I%20was%20feeling%20a%20little%20run%20down%20this%20morning%20and%20after%20I%20had%20the%20pancake%20batter%20whipped%20up,%20I%20realized%20I%20probably%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20enough%20syrup%20and%20I%20was%20NOT%20running%20to%20the%20store%20this%20morning.%20%20%20What%20follows%20was%20going%20to%20be%20a%20recipe,%20but%20is%20obviously%20still%20in%20development.%20%20%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20really%20measure%20anything%20and%20then%20(of%20course)%20my%20syrup%20pitcher%20full%20of%20ingredients%20decided%20to%20boil%20over%20in%20the%20microwave.%20%20%20Nice.%20%20%20What%20was%20left%20in%20the%20pitcher%20was%20delicious%20so%20I%20will%20try%20to%20perfect%20the%20recipe%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20would%20like%20to%20replicate%20the%20syrup%20(sans%20the%20microwave%20mess),%20here%20are%20some%20rough%20directions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHoney-Applesauce%20Syrup%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/4%20c.%20pure%20maple%20syrup%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/4%20c.%20honey%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3%20T.%20apple%20sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20t.%20cinnamon%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECarefully%20heat%20all%20ingredients%20while%20whisking%20to%20incorporate.%20%20Serve%20warm%20over%20heart%20shaped%20pancakes%20for%20Valentine%E2%80%99s%20Day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EObviously,%20feel%20free%20to%20tweak%20the%20above%20recipe!%20%20%20I%20really%20don%E2%80%99t%20know%20how%20much%20of%20each%20ingredient%20was%20still%20left%20in%20the%20pitcher%20and%20how%20much%20was%20left%20in%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20microwave.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20a%20better%20note,%20I%20am%20swigging%20down%20some%20honey%20and%20lemon%20hot%20water%20and%20going%20to%20take%20it%20easy%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20day.%20%20The%20Hubs%E2%80%99%20has%20a%20secret%20surprise%20for%20me%20tonight.%20%20I%20keep%20asking%20for%20hints.%20%20I%20think%20we%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20our%20favorite%20%E2%80%9Conly%20for%20special%20occasions%E2%80%9D%20restaurant.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20Valentine%E2%80%99s%20Day!!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
