glad to be here, but i don't think I'm in your league of cooking,or at you're all's cost of food range, something vary cheap and simple is my way of thinking.

His first cookbook, I'm Just Here for the Food, won a James Beard award for best reference book. I love it as well, there are several wonderful recipes in it. I enjoy the Cube Steak a la Salisbury, fried green tomatoes (I'm Southern ;) ), Grilled Butterflied Chicken (first recipe I made from the book), Chick On a Stick and a lot LOL

Glad you joined, Lisa. I've cooked extensively from the Frugal Gourmet, but haven't every read Alton Brown even though I've heard a ton about him. I'm going to buy one of his books based on your recommendation. Any favorite you'd recommend that is not specific to baking?
