Twix Ice Cream Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups shortbread cookie crumbs (about 22 cookies)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- For the Ice Cream Pie:
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped Twix candy bars
- Garnish:
- 1 cup chopped Twix candy bars
- 2 tablespoons salted caramel sauce

%20June%20is%20National%20Dairy%20Month%20so%20I%20feel%20ok%20about%20my%20ice%20cream%20consumption.%20I%20am%20just%20doing%20my%20part:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20current%20favorite%20ice%20cream%20treat%20is%20this%20Twix%20Ice%20Cream%20Pie.%20You%20guys,%20it%20is%20all%20kinds%20of%20wonderful.%20Here%20is%20the%20low%20down,%20shortbread%20cookie%20crust%20with%20a%20layer%20of%20chocolate,%20vanilla%20ice%20cream,%20chopped%20up%20Twix%20candy%20bars,%20and%20salted%20caramel%20sauce.%20Sounds%20heavenly,%20right?%20Yep,%20it%20is%20and%20you%20need%20to%20make%20it%20ASAP!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don%E2%80%99t%20buy%20candy%20bars%20very%20often,%20only%20when%20I%20want%20to%20make%20a%20special%20dessert.%20If%20they%20are%20incorporated%20into%20a%20recipe%20that%20somehow%20makes%20them%20better%20for%20me.%20I%20think%20it%20takes%20away%20the%20calories.%20Shhh.%20I%20know%20that%20is%20crazy%20thinking,%20but%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20care:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20family%20loves%20Twix%20candy%20bars%20so%20I%20thought%20it%20would%20be%20fun%20to%20use%20them%20in%20a%20fun%20summer%20dessert.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20started%20with%20shortbread%20cookies.%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20make%20my%20own,%20I%20just%20used%20store%20bought%20cookies.%20Sometimes%20it%20is%20ok%20to%20cheat:)%20I%20combined%20the%20shortbread%20cookie%20crumbs%20with%20melted%20butter%20and%20pressed%20them%20into%20a%20pie%20plate.%20I%20baked%20the%20crust%20for%2010%20minutes%20and%20had%20a%20perfect%20pie%20crust.%20Easy%20peasy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext,%20I%20added%20melted%20chocolate%20to%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20shortbread%20pie%20crust.%20Shortbread%20cookie%20crust%20with%20chocolate?%20All%20kinds%20of%20YES!%20I%20let%20the%20chocolate%20harden%20in%20the%20freezer%20while%20I%20stirred%20up%20my%20ice%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20added%20chopped%20up%20Twix%20candy%20bars%20and%20salted%20caramel%20sauce%20to%20softened%20vanilla%20ice%20cream.%20I%20wanted%20to%20eat%20the%20entire%20bowl%20with%20a%20spoon,%20but%20I%20knew%20the%20pie%20would%20be%20worth%20the%20wait,%20so%20I%20poured%20the%20ice%20cream%20mixture%20into%20my%20crust.%20I%20garnished%20the%20pie%20with%20more%20Twix%20candy%20bars%20and%20a%20drizzle%20of%20salted%20caramel%20sauce.%20Swoon!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20put%20the%20pie%20in%20the%20freezer%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20hours%20so%20the%20ice%20cream%20could%20set%20up.%20The%20wait%20seemed%20like%20FOREVER!%20I%20kept%20pacing%20back%20and%20forth%20by%20the%20freezer.%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20stand%20the%20suspense.%20I%20wanted%20a%20piece%20of%20pie!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20pie%20was%20ready,%20I%20took%20it%20out%20of%20the%20freezer%20and%20cut%20it%20into%20slices.%20I%20took%20a%20few%20quick%20photos%20for%20all%20of%20you%20and%20then%20I%20sat%20down%20with%20my%20glorious%20piece%20of%20pie.%20It%20was%20well%20worth%20the%20wait.%20This%20Twix%20Ice%20Cream%20Pie%20is%20AH-mazing!%20I%20loved%20every%20single%20bite.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20are%20looking%20for%20the%20ultimate%20ice%20cream%20dessert%20for%20summertime,%20look%20no%20further,%20this%20Twix%20Ice%20Cream%20Pie%20is%20IT!%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETwix%20Ice%20Cream%20Pie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYield:%20Serves%208%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrep%20Time:%2015%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20Time:%2010%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETotal%20Time:%202%20hours%2015%20minutes%20(includes%20freezing%20time)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20ice%20cream%20pie%20is%20the%20perfect%20summer%20dessert!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Crust:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%20In%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20combine%20shortbread%20cookie%20crumbs%20and%20melted%20butter.%20Press%20into%20an%20ungreased%209-inch%20pie%20dish.%20Bake%20for%2010%20minutes.%20Let%20crust%20cool%20on%20a%20wire%20cooling%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20In%20a%20microwave%20safe%20bowl,%20melt%20the%20chocolate%20chips,%20stirring%20occasionally.%20Pour%20melted%20chocolate%20in%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20pie%20crust.%20Put%20the%20crust%20in%20the%20freezer%20until%20the%20chocolate%20hardens,%20about%2015-20%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20While%20the%20chocolate%20is%20hardening,%20remove%20your%20ice%20cream%20from%20the%20freezer%20to%20soften.%20Once%20softened,%20stir%20in%20the%20salted%20caramel%20sauce%20and%201%20cup%20of%20the%20chopped%20Twix%20candy%20bars.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Remove%20crust%20from%20freezer%20and%20pour%20ice%20cream%20mixture%20into%20the%20crust.%20Smooth%20the%20top.%20Garnish%20with%20the%20remaining%201%20cup%20chopped%20Twix%20candy%20bars%20and%20salted%20caramel%20sauce.%20Carefully%20cover%20pie%20with%20plastic%20wrap,%20making%20sure%20it%20doesn't%20touch%20the%20pie.%20Place%20pie%20in%20freezer%20and%20freeze%20until%20ice%20cream%20hardens,%20at%20least%202%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20When%20ready%20to%20serve,%20remove%20pie%20from%20freezer.%20Run%20a%20sharp%20knife%20under%20hot%20water.%20C
