%20somehow%20find%20a%20way%20to%20get%20them%20both%20ready%20and%20out%20the%20door%20on%20time.%20This%20is%20not%20an%20easy%20task,%20because%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20scientific%20fact%20that%203-4%20year%20olds%20take%20at%20least%2017%20minutes%20per%20article%20of%20clothing%20they%20need%20to%20put%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20see%20a%20lot%20of%20burgers%20in%20our%20future.%20Good%20thing%20they%20are%20well-loved%20by%20our%20family%20and%20endlessly%20adaptable.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20I%20loved%20about%20these%20burgers%20in%20particular%20is%20that%20there%E2%80%99s%20a%20bite%20of%20portobello%20in%20every%20bite,%20since%20you%20shape%20the%20patty%20inside%20the%20mushroom.%20No%20random%20sauteed%20mushrooms%20falling%20out%20of%20the%20burger%20and%20making%20a%20mess.%20No%20bites%20at%20the%20end%20that%20are%20basically%20bun%20with%20a%20tiny%20bit%20of%20meat%20and%20no%20other%20toppings.%20The%20rosemary%20in%20these%20was%20also%20great.%20My%20supremely%20weirdo%20kid%20was%20sitting%20there%20eating%20fresh%20rosemary%20as%20I%20was%20prepping%20these.%20Seriously,%20that%E2%80%99s%20weird,%20right?%20I%20sometimes%20wonder%20if%20he%20has%20a%20tapeworm%20or%20something.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20any%20rate,%20mine%20did%20take%20a%20little%20longer%20to%20cook%20than%20the%20recipe%20stated,%20at%20least%20on%20the%20second%20side.%20I%20ended%20up%20flipping%20them%20back%20over%20to%20cook%20an%20extra%20couple%20of%20minutes,%20so%20next%20time%20I%E2%80%99ll%20just%20increase%20the%20cooking%20time%20on%20the%20first%20side%20before%20flipping%20(since%20you%20are%20cooking%20through%20the%20portobello%20on%20the%20second%20side,%20it%20takes%20a%20little%20longer%20for%20the%20pork%20to%20cook%20through).%20I%20also%20was%20just%20a%20little%20short%20on%20ground%20pork,%20and%20I%20made%20the%20difference%20up%20with%20ground%20chicken.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPork%20and%20Portobello%20Burgers%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBarely%20adapted%20from%20The%20New%20York%20Times%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrepare%20a%20grill;%20the%20heat%20should%20be%20medium-high%20and%20the%20rack%20about%204%20inches%20from%20the%20heat.%20Alternatively,%20if%20cooking%20indoors,%20heat%20a%20cast%20iron%20skillet%20over%20medium-high,%20or%20preheat%20the%20broiler.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELightly%20mix%20together%20the%20pork,%20garlic,%20rosemary,%20salt%20(about%203/4%20tsp.)%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20spoon,%20lightly%20scrape%20away%20the%20gills%20of%20the%20mushrooms%20and%20hollow%20them%20slightly.%20Brush%20the%20mushrooms%20inside%20and%20out%20with%20olive%20oil%20and%20sprinkle%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper.%20Press%201/4%20of%20the%20meat%20mixture%20into%20each%20of%20the%20hollow%20sides%20of%20the%20mushrooms.%20The%20meat%20should%20spread%20all%20the%20way%20across%20the%20width%20of%20the%20mushrooms.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20cooking%20indoors,%20add%20a%20little%20oil%20to%20the%20cast%20iron%20skillet%20or%20place%20the%20burgers%20onto%20a%20broiler-safe%20pan.%20Grill,%20fry,%20or%20broil%20the%20burgers,%20meat%20side%20down,%20until%20the%20pork%20is%20well%20browned,%20about%206-8%20minutes.%20Flip%20and%20cook%20until%20the%20top%20side%20of%20the%20mushrooms%20are%20browned%20and%20the%20mushrooms%20are%20tender,%20another%206%20minutes.%20An%20instant-read%20thermometer%20inserted%20into%20the%20mean%20should%20read%20a%20minimum%20of%20145%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20the%20burgers%20on%20toasted%20buns%20with%20your%20desired%20toppings.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
