%20Ever%20since%20we%E2%80%99ve%20moved%20in%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20dying%20to%20do%20one%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ething%E2%80%A6.bake%20something%20in%20the%20new%20oven.%20Finally%20I%20thought%20I%20will%20just%20try%20baking%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ea%20box%20cake%20mix%20first.%20I%20had%20a%20Yellow%20Cake%20box%20mix%20in%20my%20pantry%20and%20though%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewanted%20to%20jazz%20up%20the%20box%20cake%20a%20bit%20,%20I%20din%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20use%20any%20sweet%20icing%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eall.%20And%20what%20do%20I%20see%20on%20my%20kitchen%20counter%20calling%20out%20to%20me%E2%80%A6.?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20lovely%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eperfectly%20ripe%20pineapple%20%20:-)%20so%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPineapple%20Upside-down%20Cake%20was%20my%20first%20thought.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20called%20an%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUpside-down%20cake%20b%E2%80%99coz%20the%20fruit%20layer%20along%20with%20some%20brown%20sugar%20glazed%20is%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eplaced%20at%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20cake%20pan%20and%20the%20cake%20batter%20is%20then%20poured%20over%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20fruit-glaze%20layer%20and%20then%20baked.%20Later%20the%20cake%20is%20turned%20upside%20down%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eserved%20as%20such%20with%20the%20fruit%20and%20sugar%20glaze%20on%20the%20top.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAny%20fruits%20like%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Echerries,%20peaches,%20cherries%20apples%20etc%20can%20be%20used%20for%20this%20cake%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20really%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egood%20way%20to%20enjoy%20some%20cake%20without%20all%20the%20frosting%20and%20sugary%20icing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20here%E2%80%99s%20what%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edid.%20I%20got%20my%20cake%20batter%20ready%20(it%E2%80%99s%20in%20the%20red%20bowl),%20%20greased%20my%209%E2%80%9D%20spring%20foam%20cake%20pan,%20made%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebrown%20sugar%20glaze%20and%20then%20skinned%20,%20sliced%20and%20cored%20my%20pineapple.%20Placed%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebrown%20sugar%20glaze%20on%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20cake%20pan,%20arranged%20with%20pineapple%20slices%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eon%20top,%20decorated%20with%20glazed%20cherries%20and%20poured%20the%20cake%20batter%20over%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efruit%20and%20baked%20away!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20started%20making%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20cake%20around%206pm,%20so%20I%20got%20good%20snaps%20of%20the%20pineapple%20slices%20n%20all,%20but%20by%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20time%20the%20cake%20baked%20and%20cooled%20it%20was%20around%208pm%20and%20all%20the%20good%20sunlight%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egone,%20so%20I%20had%20to%20take%20a%20pic%20in%20tubelight%20(that%E2%80%99s%20the%20first%20pic).%20And%20no%20one%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewanted%20to%20wait%20till%20morning%20for%20me%20to%20take%20good%20snaps%20:-P%20So%20here%E2%80%99s%20few%20more%20I%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etook%20the%20next%20day%20with%20what%20was%20left.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJuicy,%20moist,%20crumbly,%20almost%20pudding%20like%20are%20the%20adjectives%20the%20folks%20at%20home%20called%20while%20ooh-ing%20and%20aah-ing%20over%20the%20cake.%20The%20Pineapple%20slices%20were%20so%20sweet%20and%20juicy%20and%20the%20brown%20sugar%20glaze%20almost%20tasted%20like%20Indian%20Chikki.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20cake%20was%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esuper%20yumm%E2%80%A6my%20parents%20usually%20don%E2%80%99t%20eat%20too%20much%20sweet%20stuff%20and%20they%20went%20for%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eseconds%20and%20thirds.%20My%20dad%E2%80%99s%20a%20fan%20of%20my%20cakes%20and%20was%20eagerly%20waiting%20for%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecake%20to%20be%20done%20and%20he%20took%20the%20first%20slice.%20The%20whole%20cake%20was%20over%20in%20two%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edays%20%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPineapple%20Upside-down%20Cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYellow%20Cake%20box%20mix%20%E2%80%93%201%20(I%20used%20Betty%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecrocker%20brand,%20can%20use%20any%20vanilla%20cake%20mix)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERipe%20Pineapple%20slices%20%E2%80%93%202-3%20(or%20as%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erequired)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGlazed%20cherries%20%E2%80%93%20as%20required%20(optional)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EButter%20%E2%80%93%204%20tblsp%20(%20I%20had%20only%202%20tblsp,%20so%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eused%20that)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20325F%20(or%20as%20per%20box%20mix%20instructions)%20and%20grease%20a%209%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecake%20pan%20with%20butter%20and%20keep%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Prepare%20the%20cake%20batter%20as%20per%20box%20mix%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einstructions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Prepare%20the%20brown%20sugar%20glaze%20by%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eadding%20brown%20sugar%20and%20butter%20in%20a%20saucepan%20and%20heat%20it%20until%20the%20butter%20melts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20the%20glaze%20is%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Pour%20the%20brown%20sugar%20glaze%20in%20the%20cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epan%20and%20spread%20it%20around%20the%20pan.%20Place%20the%20pineapple%20slices%20however%20you%20like%20over%20the%20glaze%20and%20decorate%20with%20glazed%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Echerries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Pour%20the%20cake%20batter%20over%20the%20fruit%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20bake%20at%20325F%20for%2055-60mins.%20(Mine%20was%20done%20at%2055mins)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Let%20the%20cake%20cool%20for%2015%20mins%20over%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecounter%20and%20run%20a%20knife%20around%20the%20edges%20of%20the%20cake%20and%20invert%20the%20cake%20onto%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eplate%20or%20cake%20stand.%20Once%20the%20cake%20has%20cooled%20remove%20the%20cake%20pan.%20Serve%20and%20enjoy%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esome%20delicious%20slices%20of%20a%20super%20yummy%20cake!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20a%20super%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecake%20:-)%20call%20it%20what%20you%20want,%20it%E2%80%99s%20simply%20yumm!%20Go%20and%20bake%20one%20right%20now%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etaste%20it%20for%20yourself.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20forget%20to%20share%20your%20feedback%20with%20me%20if%20you%20do%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-Manju%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
