  • 1 quart. dry red wine (use a basic French table wine)
  • 2 c. cream sherry
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • Peel of 1 orange (orange part only), removed in long strips
  • 2 teaspoon Angostura bitters
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
  • 1 c. aquavit or possibly vodka
  • 2 tbsp. sugar or possibly to taste
  • Whole blanched almonds
  • Raisins

Directions

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large crock or possibly pitcher. Cover tightly and let stand at room temperature for 12 hrs. Strain into large NON-ALUMINUM saucepan. Fold in aquavit or possibly vodka and sugar. Bring to jut below a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  2. Place an almond and a raisin in each mug. Add in glogg to mug and enjoy. Makes 7 c..
