Outback Steakhouse is mainly open for dinner, after 4pm, but this one in Farmington, NM is open Saturday and Sunday at 11am; starting July 1, 2013 it will be open for lunch everyday. We were immediately greeted upon entering, and while the host wanted to seat us in the bar area, we insisted on a booth in the dining area. Our waitress, Heidi, was friendly, took our drink and appetizer order quickly; brought warm bread and butter to nosh on; and made sure to keep our drink glasses filled. %20324-2122%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWebsite:%20http://www.outback.com/restaurant/locations/nm/farmington/farmington/index.aspx%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOutback%20Steakhouse%20is%20mainly%20open%20for%20dinner,%20after%204pm,%20but%20this%20one%20in%20Farmington,%20NM%20is%20open%20Saturday%20and%20Sunday%20at%2011am;%20starting%20July%201,%202013%20it%20will%20be%20open%20for%20lunch%20everyday.%20%20We%20were%20immediately%20greeted%20upon%20entering,%20and%20while%20the%20host%20wanted%20to%20seat%20us%20in%20the%20bar%20area,%20we%20insisted%20on%20a%20booth%20in%20the%20dining%20area.%20%20Our%20waitress,%20Heidi,%20was%20friendly,%20took%20our%20drink%20and%20appetizer%20order%20quickly;%20brought%20warm%20bread%20and%20butter%20to%20nosh%20on;%20and%20made%20sure%20to%20keep%20our%20drink%20glasses%20filled.%20%20Several%20times%20the%20General%20Manager,%20Chris,%20stopped%20at%20booths%20and%20tables%20nearby%20us;%20for%20whatever%20unknown%20reason,%20he%20didn't%20bother%20to%20stop%20by%20ours%20to%20introduce%20himself,%20nor%20ask%20how%20our%20meal%20experience%20was.%20%20Another%20gentleman%20wearing%20a%20red%20shirt%20came%20by%20later%20on,%20stopped%20at%20each%20table%20and%20booth,%20asked%20how%20everything%20was%20before%20moving%20on;%20didn't%20introduce%20himself,%20so%20he%20could%20have%20been%20just%20some%20friendly%20guy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20chose%20two%20appetizers,%20the%20new%20Crab%20Stuffed%20Mushrooms%20and%20a%20half%20order%20of%20Aussie%20Cheese%20Fries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Crab%20Stuffed%20Mushrooms%20were%20cooked%20well;%20moist,%20delicious%20stuffing%20with%20mushrooms%20that%20could%20easily%20be%20cut%20with%20a%20fork.%20%20The%20lemon%20butter%20sauce%20served%20on%20the%20side%20was%20thick,%20yet%20creamy%20and%20went%20so%20well%20with%20this%20appetizer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Aussie%20Cheese%20Fries%20were%20deep%20fried%20shoestring%20potatoes%20covered%20in%20melted%20cheese%20and%20just%20a%20smidgen%20of%20bacon;%20definitely%20would%20have%20appreciated%20more%20bacon%20with%20this%20appetizer.%20%20It%20was%20served%20with%20a%20spicy%20ranch%20dipping%20sauce,%20but%20nothing%20to%20rave%20about.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20main%20entree,%20we%20both%20chose%206%20ounce%20sirloins;%20The%20Bloomin'%20Sirloin%20which%20came%20topped%20with%20%22petals%22%20from%20Outback's%20Bloomin'%20Onion%20appetizer%20and%20the%20Sirloin%20with%20Wild%20Mushroom%20Sauce%20(new%20item%20on%20the%20menu);%20both%20came%20with%20a%20choice%20of%20potato,%20steamed%20vegetables%20or%20side%20salad.%20%20If%20you%20wanted%20the%20choice%20of%20potato%20and%20a%20side%20salad,%20it%20was%20an%20extra%20$2.99%20for%20the%20salad%20(lettuce,%20croutons,%20cherry%20tomatoes,%20red%20onion,%20shredded%20cheese).%20%20While%20we%20both%20enjoy%20our%20steaks%20medium-rare,%20we%20ordered%20medium%20and%20surprise!,%20the%20steaks%20both%20came%20out%20medium-rare%20anyway.%20%20I%20enjoyed%20the%20garlic%20mashed%20potatoes%20with%20The%20Bloomin'%20Sirloin;%20they%20were%20not%20only%20creamy%20and%20delicious,%20but%20stayed%20hot%20throughout%20the%20entire%20meal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20husband%20had%20ordered%20the%20side%20salad%20which%20was%20served%20after%20the%20appetizers,%20so%20his%20steak%20looked%20so%20lonely%20on%20that%20large%20dinner%20plate%20all%20by%20itself.%20%20Perhaps%20if%20the%20large%20slices%20of%20mushroom%20had%20been%20served%20on%20the%20side%20of%20the%20steak,%20the%20presentation%20would%20have%20been%20better;%20the%20sauce%20was%20creamy%20though.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20shared%20one%20dessert,%20Carrot%20Cake%20with%20a%20Cream%20Cheese%20Frosting%20which%20is%20not%20house%20made,%20but%20brought%20in%20from%20an%20outside%20source.%20%20However,%20the%20cake%20itself%20was%20moist%20with%20plenty%20of%20diced%20pecans%20and%20raisins;%20the%20frosting%20was%20not%20overly%20sweet%20and%20went%20so%20nicely%20with%20the%20cake.%20%20It%20was%20a%20pleasant%20ending%20to%20the%20overall%20meal%20experience.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENormally%20I%20don't%20give%20ratings,%20but%20with%20a%20chain%20restaurant%20like%20Outback%20Steakhouse,%20I%20would%20give%20this%20one%20in%20Farmington,%20NM%20a%20B%20minus%20(B-).%20%20Not%20overly%20bad,%20not%20overly%20good%20and%20just%20a%20touch%20above%20average.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMary%20Cokenour%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
