Chicken With Pomegranate Juice Recipe

  1. Wash and prepare chicken for frying. Saute/fry the chicken with seasoning in shortening till light brown on all sides.
  2. Alternatively: bake chicken at 350 degrees for 45 min. Put chicken aside.
  3. Saute/fry the onions in 3 Tablespoons butter till golden. Add in tomato sauce and saute/fry for a few min.
  4. Add in walnuts to the sauteed onions and saute/fry over medium fire for about 5 min, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn the walnuts.
  5. Add in water, seasoning, lemon juice, and pomegranate syrup. Cover and let cook on a low fire for about 35 min. Taste the sauce and if you find it a little sour add in the sugar.
  6. Arrange chicken pcs in this sauce.
  7. Cover and let simmer for 20-25 min. Serve with white rice.
