%20developing%20my%20cookbook%20proposal%20%E2%80%93%20themed%20around%20dinners%20for%20the%20omnivore-vegetarian%20table%20%E2%80%93%20and%20am%20making%20good%20progress.%20In%20fact,%20progress%20has%20been%20strong%20enough%20that%20the%20agent%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20speaking%20with%20offered%20a%20contract%20to%20represent%20me%20this%20past%20week.%20There%20remains%20much%20yet%20to%20be%20accomplished%20before%20it%E2%80%99s%20ready%20for%20publishers%E2%80%99%20eyes,%20but%20I%E2%80%99m%20excited%20and%20encouraged%20beyond%20reason.%20Being%20signed%20by%20an%20agent%20is%20a%20huge%20task%20to%20cross%20off%20my%20%E2%80%9CLife%20To%20Do%20List%E2%80%9D.%20Huge.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20past%20month,%20scrupulously%20prepared%20dinners%20for%20the%20proposal%20punctuated%20long%20days%20spent%20brainstorming,%20writing,%20organizing,%20and%20editing.%20But%20there%20were%20also%20quick%20dinners%20requiring%20little%20cleanup.%20One%20night%20Myles%20ran%20out%20for%20take-out;%20the%20only%20way%20we%20were%20eating%20that%20night.%20So%20when%20I%20received%20my%20assigned%20blog%20a%20couple%20of%20weeks%20ago,%20I%20knew%20I%20was%20looking%20for%20good%20food%20that%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20be%20a%20project.%20And%20I%20found%20lots%20to%20choose%20from%20on%20Life%20on%20Food.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst,%20for%20the%20uninitiated,%20the%20Secret%20Recipe%20Club%20is%20a%20group%20of%20around%20100%20food%20bloggers,%20divided%20into%20four%20groups.%20Every%20month,%20Group%20Leaders%20assign%20a%20blog%20to%20each%20blogger%20in%20their%20group.%20Once%20we%20receive%20our%20assignment,%20we%20look%20through%20the%20blog,%20try%20a%20few%20recipes,%20and%20post%20about%20one%20in%20particular.%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20great%20idea.%20There%E2%80%99s%20an%20ocean%20of%20food%20blogs%20out%20there%20to%20visit%20and%20potentially%20follow,%20with%20the%20tide%20bringing%20in%20a%20new%20crop%20every%20week.%20Unfortunately,%20fitting%20a%2036-hour%20life%20into%20a%2024-hour%20day%20often%20means%20visiting%20the%20same%20bundle%20of%20blogs%20I%E2%80%99ve%20grown%20to%20love%20day%20after%20day.%20Sometimes%20I%20need%20an%20assignment%20and%20a%20deadline%20to%20visit%20new%20blogs%20I%E2%80%99m%20interested%20in,%20but%20never%20seem%20to%20find%20the%20time%20for.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20so%20glad%20I%20found%20Life%20on%20Food,%20written%20by%20Emily.%20She%E2%80%99s%20lived%20in%20Iowa,%20Georgia,%20and%20Maine;%20and%20now,%20she%20and%20her%20husband%20(the%20resident%20chopper%20and%20taste%20tester)%20call%20Connecticut%20home.%20Emily%20loves%20making%20things%20from%20scratch,%20and%20has%20some%20wonderful%20comfort%20meals%20posted.%20I%20was%20really%20torn%20between%20her%20Hearty%20Vegetable%20Ragu%20and%20Black%20Beans%20and%20Sweet%20Potato%20Enchiladas,%20but%20ultimately%20settled%20on%20her%20Broccoli%20Gribiche.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGribiche%20is%20a%20French%20mayonnaise-style%20sauce%20made%20by%20emulsifying%20the%20yolks%20of%20hard-boiled%20eggs%20and%20mustard%20into%20an%20oil.%20The%20sauce%20is%20typically%20finished%20with%20chopped%20pickles,%20capers,%20parsley,%20tarragon%20and%20chervil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20verdict:%20this%20recipe%20is%20a%20keeper%20and%20is%20now%20in%20my%20regular%20rotation.%20It%E2%80%99s%20easy%20to%20make%20and%20packed%20with%20flavor.%20The%20crispiness%20of%20the%20roasted%20potatoes%20and%20broccoli%20add%20greatly%20to%20the%20texture%20of%20the%20dish,%20and%20the%20broccoli%20exudes%20a%20gentle%20smokiness%20from%20the%20long%20roasting.%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20time%20to%20play%20with%20the%20dish,%20and%20honestly%20it%E2%80%99s%20great%20just%20as%20it%20is.%20But%20next%20time%20I%20might%20add%20some%20mustard%20croutons%20to%20the%20mix,%20maybe%20fry%20the%20capers,%20and%20add%20some%20finely%20chopped%20gherkins.%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20sure%20this%20wonderful%20dish%20needs%20it,%20truth%20to%20tell.%20Changing%20it%20up%20is%20more%20about%20kitchen%20play%20than%20anything%20else.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECooking%20Notes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20reheated%20the%20dish%20for%20lunch,%20the%20flavors%20were%20still%20wonderful;%20maybe%20more%20so%20since%20the%20potatoes%20and%20broccoli%20marinated%20a%20bit%20in%20the%20gribiche%20dressing.%20But%20the%20crispiness%20had%20softened%20overnight%20in%20the%20refrigerator.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurf%20%E2%80%98n%20Turf%20Notes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20a%20perfect%20salad,%20hearty%20enough%20to%20be%20served%20as%20a%20vegetarian%20entr%C3%A9e%20for%20myself%20and%20served%20with%20some%20baby%20back%20pork%20ribs%20for%20Myles.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eby%20Susan%20Pridmore%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrep%20Time:%2015%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20Time:%2045%20minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20eggs%20in%20a%20small%20pot%20and%20cover%20with%20cold%20water%20by%20about%20an%20inch.%20Bring%20to%20a%20simmer%20over%20medium-high%20heat,%20and%20simmer%20for%20three%20minutes.%20Turn%20th
