%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EProvoleta%20Pizza%20with%20Criolla%20Sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20last%20six%20weeks%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20following%20the%20action%20around%20Foodbuzz%E2%80%99s%20Project%20Food%20Blog,%20a%20contest%20aimed%20to%20find%20the%20%E2%80%9Cnext%20food%20blog%20star%E2%80%9D%20among%20Foodbuzz%E2%80%99s%20Featured%20Publishers,%20and%20not%20only%20has%20it%20introduced%20me%20to%20some%20amazing%20blogs%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20also%20made%20me%20unbelievably%20hungry.%20The%20biggest%20offender%20was%20last%20week%E2%80%99s%20challenge%20that%20had%20the%20remaining%20contestants%20do%20a%20%E2%80%9Cremix%E2%80%9D%20on%20pizzas.%20So%20many%20delicious%20ones%20emerged%20as%20a%20result%20that%20my%20stomach%20started%20audibly%20growling%20while%20reading%20through%20the%20posts,%20and%20all%20I%20wanted%20to%20do%20last%20week%20was%20make%20lots%20and%20lots%20of%20pizzas.%20The%20wedding%20of%20two%20awesome%20people%20kept%20us%20away%20from%20our%20kitchen%20Saturday%20night,%20but%20a%20little%20planning%20and%20the%20help%20of%20Fresh%20Direct%20helped%20us%20bring%20one%20of%20the%20more%20intriguing%20pizza%20meals%20to%20life%20on%20Sunday%20night.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20dinner%20at%20Santa%20Maria%20del%20Sur%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20first,%20a%20bit%20of%20backstory.%20Our%20last%20night%20in%20London%20found%20us%20at%20this%20darling%20Argentinian%20steakhouse%20joint%20that%20happened%20to%20be%20featured%20in%20an%20episode%20of%20Gordon%20Ramsay%E2%80%99s%20The%20F%20Word%20(aka%20not%20Kitchen%20Nightmares)%20that%20was%20conveniently%20located%20down%20the%20street%20from%20our%20awesome%20hosts%20in%20Battersea.%20Thanks%20to%20the%20exposure%20Santa%20Maria%20del%20Sur%20is%20much%20harder%20to%20get%20a%20reservation%20at%20(ours%20was%20at%209),%20but%20it%20hasn%E2%80%99t%20lost%20the%20charm%20that%20got%20it%20listed%20as%20a%20contender%20for%20best%20American%20food%20in%20the%20first%20place.%20We%20enjoyed%20the%20Parriallda%20Piazolla%20mixed%20grill%20platter%20that%20had%20ribeye,%20rump%20steak,%20two%20pork%20sausages,%20a%20blood%20sausage%20(my%20favorite)%20and%20a%20big%20ol%E2%80%99%20lump%20of%20melted%20Provolone%20cheese,%20as%20you%20can%20see%20here.%20(The%20photo%20isn%E2%80%99t%20great%20because%20I%20was%20trying%20to%20be%20stealth%20as%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20humiliate%20our%20hosts%20as%20I%20figured%20they%20would%20like%20to%20return%20to%20this%20establishment%20again.)%20The%20meal%20was%20amazing,%20but%20I%20never%20thought%20we%E2%80%99d%20look%20to%20recreate%20it%20only%20because%20it%20seemed%20so%20unique%20that%20anything%20we%20tried%20to%20do%20would%20turn%20up%20being%20wanting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESirloin%20and%20Sausage%20Pizza%20with%20Chimichurri%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnter%20Cristina%20of%20From%20Buenos%20Aires%20to%20Paris.%20An%20Argentinian%20native%20who%20has%20since%20expatriated%20to%20Paris,%20she%20was%20inspired%20by%20the%20classic%20Argentinian%20barbecue%20when%20asked%20to%20remix%20the%20classic%20pizza%20recipe,%20and%20so%20two%20positively%20genius%20savory%20pizzas%20were%20born.%20(She%20also%20does%20a%20sweet%20one,%20but%20wedding%20cake%20had%20satisfied%20our%20sweet%20teeth%20the%20night%20before.)%20Her%20provoleta%20pizza%20was%20very%20pizza-like,%20with%20the%20oregano%20and%20the%20cheese%20and%20the%20caramelized%20red%20onions%20that%20really%20did%20add%20that%20extra%20oomph,%20along%20with%20the%20Criolla%20sauce%20that%20gave%20it%20all%20some%20texture%20and%20bite%E2%80%93though%20we%20were%20prone%20to%20eating%20that%20out%20of%20the%20bowl%20and%20had%20to%20force%20ourselves%20to%20save%20some%20for%20the%20actual%20pizza!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EArgentinian-Style%20Barbecue%20Pizza%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20steak%20and%20sausage%20pizza%20was%20another%20beast%20entirely.%20Michael%20cooked%20the%20steak%20relatively%20early%20to%20give%20it%20plenty%20of%20time%20to%20rest%20prior%20to%20going%20into%20the%20oven%20(and%20it%20was%20purposely%20underdone%20so%20it%20could%20finish%20in%20the%20oven),%20and%20we%20set%20off%20the%20smoke%20alarms%20(yet%20again)%20in%20cooking%20the%20sausages.%20The%20tomato%20sauce%20was%20a%20simple%20garlic,%20olive%20oil%20and%20a%2015%20oz%20can%20of%20tomatoes%20concoction%20cooked%20with%20some%20balsamic%20vinegar%20and%20crushed%20red%20pepper%20until%20most%20of%20the%20liquid%20evaporated.%20The%20sauce%20is%20the%20base%20layer,%20then%20the%20meats%20are%20placed%20on%20top,%20and%20then%20a%20little%20chimichurri%20is%20layered%20on%20top%20as%20a%20garnish%20of%20sorts%20(and%20according%20to%20Cristina%20it%20was%20first%20made%20with%20parsley%20and%20not%20cilantro%E2%80%93good%20to%20know!).%20There%E2%80%99s%20no%20issue%20in%20biting%20into%20steak%20on%20a%20pizza%20here%E2%80%93a%20good%20sirloin%20top%20steak%20does%20the%20trick%20here%20nicely%20and%20even%20when%20finished%20in%20the%20oven%20on%20the%20pizza,%20the%20steak%20is%20quite%20easy%20to%20sink%20your%20teeth%20into,%20and%20the%20sauce%20is%20tart%20and%20sharp%20and%20just%20a%20little%20spicy,%20and%20the%20sausage%20is%20naturally%20delectable.%20The%20chimichurri%20adds%20just%20the%20right%20amount%20of%20bite%20as%20well%20as%20color%20and%20the%20whole%20pizza%20really%20does%20turn%20into%20a%20steakhouse%20on%20a%20round%20of%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20meal%20brought%20us%20back%20to%20Santa%20Maria%20del%20Sur%20for%20sure,%20though%20we%20have%20yet%20to%20remake%20the%20fabulous%20Don%20Pedro%20dessert%20that%20included%20bourbon%20and%20ice%20cream%20(though%20C%20might%20have%20to%20correct%20me%20on%20that).%20Get%20the%20recipes%20here%20(we%20used%20our%20own%20pizza%20dough%20and%20adjusted%20accordingly,%20but%20use%20the%20original%20as%20your%20benchmark).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%C2%A1Buen%20provecho!%20%C2%A1Besos%20y%20muchas%20gracias%20a%20Cristina!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
