About me
Danny and I live and work at Lake Kissimmee State Park in Lake Wales, Florida. We live on a section of the park called Rolling Meadows Ranch. This section is an old sod farm that we are returning to nature. We also lease land to a herd of Cattle. So our backyard and all around us is NATURE at it's best...We have lived in a 5th wheel RV for almost 5 years. For the last 3 years we have been next to an old Cracker House that the state has been remodling. Danny has been in charge of this project for a good part of that time. We saved the old farm style kitchen with all the huge cabinets and second sink and island. The rest was gutted from outside in. We are really close to moving into it. Danny is a park ranger at LK and I am a volunteer. We have a great life here in Our Neck of the Woods".
Cooking Influences
It would be impossible for me to pick just one cook. My whole family on my mom's side were really great cooks. My mom would have to be the best over all cook. Both my sister and I learned at an early age. My grandma was a really good baker as well. Here Christmas Sugar Cookies were my favorite. My dad's mom was a good cook but she never really enjoyed doing so. I learned really quick that she didn't like "nibbler's" and to the rest of us- if you can't nibble then you shouldn't be cooking. We had a small farm so we raised most of our own meats and grew most of our own fruits and vegetables..Mom was the bread maker of the family and I'd love to get back to making my own also....
