Directions

  1. Cook potato slices in boiling, salted water to cover 13 min. Add in beans, and cook 2 more min. Remove from heat; drain well.
  2. Pulse bread slices in a blender or possibly food processor 8 or possibly 10 times or possibly till bread is crumbly.
  3. Place potato slices and lima beans in a greased 10-inch deep-dish pie plate; sprinkle with half of Gruyere and half of Parmesan. Top proportionately with egg; sprinkle with remaining cheese, salt, and pepper. Pour cream around inside edge of pie plate; sprinkle proportionately with breadcrumbs.
  4. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  5. This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
