Brett & Bart's favorite spaghetti by jeanne templemanThis is an old Italian recipe that I've been cooking for 30 years, and my boys and husband all love it. I got this from my good friend and extraordinary cook Jeannie Puente. The trick for the old Italian flavor is that you cook it for 2 days in a crockpot. I don't leave it on at night for safety. Delicious! |

Three Way Lasagna by CarolinaheartstringsA while back I got this nifty lasagna pan and somehow with all the cooking posts I’ve been preparing I just never did get around to using it. It even came with an equally nifty server. So since my share of Carolina HeartStrings’ recipes this month is Italian, I couldn’t wait to put this to use. But how boring to make the same… |

Linguine with Fresh Tomatoes by Robyn SavoieSince we can have great tomatoes year around, we can always enjoy their fresh flavor this way. Remember: Never store your fresh tomatoes in the refrigerator, the cold ruins their taste and texture. Keep them right on the counter so they'll be sweeter and juicier. |

Spinach and Sausage Gnocchi by John SpottiswoodThis is a delicious and beautiful dish. We just served it for a normal weeknight meal, but the presentation is such that it would be good for entertaining. It's rich, so good to serve with a green salad with vinaigrette. |

Grandmother’s Handkerchief & Sausage Soup (Fazzoletto di nonna e la zuppa di salsiccia) by Windle GrissettA friend of mines mom was making pasta sheets, which I thought was to be for ravioli or manicotti crepes. Cheesy Vegetable Lasagna by Beth RoanThis is the best meal I have found to hide vegetables. You can use any raw vegetable you want. I prefer zucchini but you could use squash, broccoli, mushrooms, bell peppers.....So far my girls believe me when they ask "what is this green stuff???" I tell them it's just spices. |

Suppa di matrimonio Italiano ( Wedding Soup) by J. Gino GenovesiI believe this soup was served at weddings and family gatherings because it was quick and easy to prepare, delicious and plentiful. However, my family made this soup for Sunday lunch and for holidays and family gatherings.. This was served, along with Toasted sliced bread, before a meal of homemade pasta. I have made some changes… |
