Make-over Spaghetti & Shrimp Salad by Salad FoodieOriginally mayo was the dressing for this salad recipe from a friend long ago, but I decided to give it a make-over. Adding a few new veggies and seasonings, and subbing an oil-based dressing, made it lighter and brighter. The recipe makes enough for a crowd or potluck, so cut down by one third or two thirds if needed. |

Blue gardenia salad by MichelineThis wonderful salad is the specialty of a restaurant in my area. It is my all time favourite salad. It tastes fantastic and is very garlicky. Because of the 2 cups of oil used for the dressing it has a lot of calories so I simply control the amount of dressing I put on my salad. |

Raw Vegetable Salad for a Crowd by A.L. WiebeLike many of my recipes, this one has been hanging around since the '70's, and it is always a huge hit. I have never tried to alter it in any way, as I've never felt it needed it; but if anyone has any suggestions, fire away! It takes a bit of planning, as it needs to marinate overnight, but it's well worth it. Because it makes such… |

Classic Potato Salad & An Unscientific Potato Challenge by Salad FoodieFor the heck of it on a dull afternoon we put the “scientific method” to the taste test to determine the best potatoes for potato salad. Raw Vegan Red Cabbage Salad by The Blender GirlI love simple, raw, shredded salads, and this would be amongst my favorites. The first time I ate a version of this salad, it was made, and served to me, by a very proud 8 year old. That is how quick and easy it is. What I love about this cabbage salad is the vibrant colors. The luscious purple of the cabbage, and the fresh green… |

Carrot, Pineapple and Blueberry Salad ~ Easy & Healthy! by Salad Foodie“Healthy IS as healthy DOES”, as the saying goes. This salad is one of the healthiest I prepare because there’s no added fat, salt or sweetener of any kind. The canned pineapple tidbit juice acts as the sole "dressing" - period! Not only is it good for you, but it is so easy to make, and keeps well refrigerated several days. Take… |
